Psychologist
Kellie
Kellie works with children, adolescents and parents and has an empathetic and compassionate style.
Kellie strives to offer a neurodiversity affirmative service. Kellie operates from the philosophy that children do well when they can and rejects the idea that children choose to be 'naughty.' Therefore Kellie focuses on understanding the why behind the challenges her clients present with.
Kellie has experience in conducting assessments and draws upon mindfulness, family therapies, play therapies, ACT, EMDR, internal family systems and attachment based therapy.

Provisional Psychologist
Kintara
Kintara spent over two decades as a teacher before becoming a provisional psychologist. With a Masters in Gifted Education, she is passionate about supporting gifted and 2e learners to thrive. She works with children, adolescents and their families, drawing on lived experience and evidence based practice to provide strength based, neuroaffirming supports.
Kintara’s approach is grounded in connection, curiosity and compassion. Recognising the need for deep understanding and individualised support to assist young people work through challenges.
Additionally, Kintara has a special interest in supporting neurodivergent teachers, particularly late-diagnosed ADHD women.

Psychologist
Lauren
Lauren brings experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across school settings, private practice, and public health.

She has a warm, compassionate approach and is passionate about using evidence-based therapies to support her clients in reaching their goals.

Lauren holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Master of Psychology (Clinical) and is registered with AHPRA.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys travelling and spending time with her loved ones.

Psychologist
Samantha
Sam brings experience working with children, adolescents, and families across educational, clinical, and community settings. She provides neuro-affirming assessments and therapeutic support, with a focus on fostering wellbeing and building strong, trusting relationships that promote emotional growth and confidence.
Sam believes that all children thrive when they are understood and supported in environments that recognise their individual strengths and needs. Her calm, empathetic nature and flexible thinking allow her to create a safe space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours), a Diploma of Counselling, and a Diploma of Children’s Services.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys travelling, yoga, paddle boarding, and going on walks and adventures with her dog, Daisy.

Pippa and Penny
Pippa and Penny are our amazing labradoodle and Cavoodle therapy assistants. They are available to be present during client sessions and pride themselves on their ability to help clients with their perceived sense of safety, engagement and regulation.

Tim Tam, Oreo and Milo
Animal-assisted therapy is a special part of what we do at First Steps Psychology, and our therapy goats are at the heart of it. They offer a gentle, non-judgmental presence that helps children and families build trust, emotional awareness, and self-regulation skills in a natural and joyful way. Our goats are more than therapy animals they’re part of our team.
